Exercise 1.1 – The Instrument

THE BRIEF: Take three or four exposures of the same scene. Preview the shots on the LCD screen. Now bring up the histogram on the preview screen. Add the sequence to your learning log with the time info from your camera’s shooting data as your first images for Part One.

Comparing the histograms with one another, they show subtle but noticeable differences between them. While the photographs are of the same item, in the same room, with the same lighting, and there being very minimal movement between them and the time differences of the photos, each histogram shows different results. I am unsure as to how exactly to read a histogram, however it is something that I hope to learn in the future of this course.
